Is this your first time renting a dumpster? No problem. We have made the process really easy. Our online form provides you everything you need to get the dumpster that will be perfect for your project. We include weight limits, size and the most common uses for each sized unit so you have a better idea what to rent. You can schedule the date and time you want your dumpster dropped off, and you can even tell us where you want it on your property.
Dumpster service in Chicago doesn’t have to be a long-term scenario. At A City Suburban Dumpsters, our standard temporary roll off dumpster rental is only five days. If you need the dumpster for a longer period, you can make those arrangements when you first fill out the rental agreement, or contact us while it’s at your property and arrange for an extension for a small fee.
Your temporary dumpster rental duration needs only to be as long as your project. Even if it’s just for a day or two, you can have it dropped off and schedule when you want it picked up to suit your needs.
Residential roll off dumpster projects are much more successfully accomplished when you have a place to put your refuse, from yard waste to drywall or roofing material to junk that’s been accumulating in your garage. Small dumpster rental units are perfect for these jobs, as they don’t take up much space, yet will hold all of the materials you want hauled away.
At A City Suburban Dumpsters, our small dumpsters are often used for landscaping projects or small garage cleanouts.
Construction dumpster rentals are imperative to undertaking a job successfully and keeping safety risks at a minimum. Construction debris dumpster rentals provide a great place to put trash that would otherwise clutter the work space and create a safety hazard and also disrupt workflow.
A City Suburban Dumpsters has units of all sizes, including large 30 cubic yard dumpsters that are perfect for larger projects that are common for construction companies or for homeowners taking on a DIY construction project of their own.
If it’s commercial dumpster services you need, you’ve come to the right place. We have dumpsters being used by many commercial property and business owners who need a variety of dumpster sizes, all of which we have for your use. Regardless of the type of commercial operation you’ve got going on, we can help.

One of the most important aspects of renting a dumpster is knowing what size will be perfect for your project. When you have the right size unit, you can go on with your work and not have to worry about calling the rental company to have it emptied and returned so you can continue on with your project. Making that determination can be quite intimidating for the average homeowner preparing to take on a home improvement project, garage cleanout or landscaping chore, but we’re here to assist you and make it easy.
There are a few things to keep in mind when you prepare to order your dumpster. First, what type of material will be placed in the dumpster? If you’re throwing out cinder blocks, bricks or other dense and heavy materials, consider smaller units, such as the 6 or 10 cubic yard dumpsters, because there is a weight limit to what you can put in the dumpsters. If you’ve got a large project where bulky materials will be thrown out, consider the larger units, such as the 20 or 30 cubic yard dumpsters.
Check out the following descriptions of our dumpsters, which include the weight limitations, to help you narrow down which one will suit your project. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to us.

No matter what your project entails, having a roll off dumpster rental in Chicago on site is going to make the entire waste disposal aspect of it go so much smoother. For example, if you’re taking on a construction project, having a dumpster in place to hold all of the demolition or construction material waste will provide a quick way to reduce piles of waste and also keep the work site free of clutter.
The dumpster has so many uses, like if you’re moving and want to quickly get rid of junk you’ve been holding onto, or if you’re remodeling a room in your home or simply doing a big cleaning project, having that dumpster centrally located is a huge perk.
Shingles, wooden furniture and landscaping material, such as brush, limbs from trees and sod or grass are common items that can be put into dumpsters. You can also place storm debris, lumber, construction and home improvement materials, concrete, brick and asphalt in your rented dumpster. Old clothing, shoes and other wearables are also common items put in dumpsters.
Items that you can’t put in a dumpster include paint cans that still have paint in them or radiator fluid and old car batteries, solvents and resins, insecticides or propane tanks – none of these items are permissible to place in a dumpster. Check with your local laws, as some areas of the country don’t allow upholstered furniture in landfills. Tires are not allowed in a dumpster. Medical waste, household cleaners and railroad ties are also prohibited.

How much does it cost to rent a dumpster? It depends on which company you rent yours from, and some of them will have hidden fees that make their initial attractive price suddenly become not so reasonable. At A City Suburban Dumpsters, we never hide fees.
When you rent a dumpster in Chicago, everything is included in the final cost, which means you’re not paying extra for delivery or pickup, even if it’s same-day service. But just to break it down for you, consider that the larger dumpsters will cost more than the smaller ones. For example, the smallest bin, the 6 cubic yard dumpster, will cost you $340 for five days. The largest bin, the 30 cubic yard unit, costs $520 for five days of use.
At A City Suburban Dumpsters, we don’t tack on extra fees after the fact – anything you pay will be known about up front, including tipping fees at landfills, which are part of the overall cost for services. It’s not uncommon for our customers to have projects that don’t go exactly as planned, so we’ve made arrangements for such things as additional days of use and additional weight. For example, if you need to hold on to your unit for longer than the 5 days, you will pay an additional day fee of $100/additional week. Furthermore, if you go over the weight allotted for your unit, you will pay an additional $68 per ton. Finally, Chicago requires a dumpster permit, which is $103.79 for three days and $153.79 for 30 days. Rates double in the Central Business District, so the permit is $100 and $200, respectively. You must also factor in the application fees, which change annually.
Dumpster rental pricing at A City Suburban Service:
Again, these are the prices you pay for five days of use, drop off, pickup and landfill fees. We keep it simple and transparent so there are no surprises.
We know you’ve got options in dumpster rental in the Chicago suburbs, which is why we offer affordable roll off dumpster rental prices. And while we’re competitively priced, we are also focused on offering premium services that make our customers happy that they chose us. We’re on time, accountable and considerate of our customers’ needs.
And while being affordable and transparent about the prices and fees is important, we know that without having a caring staff that is helpful and offers excellent communication, we wouldn’t have developed the reputation we have as a go-to dumpster rental company for the Chicago suburbs.
Worried about getting hit with hidden fees or that your dumpster won’t be delivered or picked up on time? Contact us and A City Suburban Dumpsters and we’ll make sure you’re taken care of. Our customers have come to know us as among the most trustworthy and punctual dumpster rental companies in the Chicago area.
Always do your research about permits before renting a dumpster, as each city government will have different regulations in regard to dumpster permits. For example, the city of Chicago requires a $103.79 3-day dumpster permit and a $153.79 30-day dumpster permit. For rentals in the Central Business District, fees are $100 for 3 days and $200 for 30 days. This means that you either have to complete your project in the 3 days allotted, or pull the 30 day permit for a project that takes longer than 3 days. There are also application fees to consider, which change annually, so be sure to factor that into your budget.
In some situations, you can avoid having to pull a permit by keeping your dumpster on your property instead of on the city street or alley. Therefore, you should always know where your dumpster will fit before making arrangements to have it delivered. The most opportune area for most homeowners is the private driveway, but when that’s not available, the yard is often the only other area on private property that a dumpster can be placed in some Chicago suburbs. Unfortunately, this is not allowed in yards in the city of Chicago. Pulling a permit and placing it by the curb on the street is also a popular option for our customers.

To help you on your journey to getting the roll off dumpster you need for your project, let’s tackle some of the more basic and frequently asked questions we get at A City Suburban Dumpsters.
Dumpsters are referred to as many things, including roll off dumpsters, bins, containers, trash or garbage containers and waste dumpsters. Regardless of what you call it, at A City Suburban Dumpsters, our roll off units are here to help you take care of your project in a more efficient manner.
You want to make the most efficient use of the space you have in your dumpster, which is why you need to load it evenly from the bottom up. Lay items flat so they’re not sticking up over the top of the unit, as all objects must be below the highest point of the dumpster for safe transport. Also, be wary of the type of materials you’re putting in the dumpster, because if you go over your maximum weight limit, you will be charged $65 per ton of overweight.
The most convenient place to have your dumpster dropped off is as close as possible to the work site without it getting in the way. A flat area is preferable, but it also must have at least three feet of clearance on every side – this allows our truck to safely deliver and remove the dumpster. Placing panel of wood on the area where it will be placed will prevent surface damages.
You are not required to present at the time of delivery or pickup. We only require that the area where you want it placed is free of obstruction. Also, when we pick up the unit, be sure there are no objects jutting out over the top of the container, as this is a hazard during transport.
While the standard rental term is five days, we can also make arrangements for you to have your dumpster for a longer period of time. Simply arrange for an extended rental when you’re applying for a unit, or just give us a call and we can work with you.
If your project generates more waste than you had anticipated, contact us and we’ll haul your full unit off and replace it with an empty one.
Always contact your HOA before renting a dumpster, as they might have various conditions that must be met before we are allowed to drop off a dumpster. In most cases, it’s a requirement regarding where we place the dumpster.
We will occasionally run specials on our dumpster rentals, so check in with us and see what’s being discounted.
